Homework: EndMatter and Book Jackets
Refine your Front Matter a.k.a. Prelims
Create a book jacket template based on the size of your book. Sketch ideas for the front cover imagery.* Generate at least 20 sketch ideas for next week.
Produce a digital comp of the entire book jacket with all of the necessary typographic, color and texture components. Use a grey box as a placeholder for the cover imagery.
Bring in your sketch ideas and print samples of your book jacket for next week.
After you receive feedback on your Prelims & Body, refine your design. When you think it's ready for a final review, print out your sample pages and bring them to class.
*Your final imagery may be illustrations, straight typography and/or photography.
